Welcome to 8th Grade!
Middle School is an new and exciting time of growth for your child! It is a time for learning how to take on more responsibility and enjoying the privileges which come with these new found freedoms. These new experiences for your student will seems daunting in the first week of school but will become second-nature in just a few weeks! We will help your students develop a sense of ownership and confidence from learning how to accomplish and grow from these things.
As parents and guardians, you play a tremendous role in helping your student adjust to the changes of middle school by giving them the opportunity to become more responsible, and to make good choices. Help your child learn how to make good decisions about things like homework and friends by providing choices and discussing with them the possible consequences or outcomes of each choice, allowing them to figure out which is the best option to use. Helping our students make the best choices for themselves will help them navigate through the many challenges life will undoubtedly throw at them.
Together we can ensure that our students grow and develop into successful and responsible young adults!!!

For most of the year you will find me power-walking the hallways of MJHS or pouring my 4th cup of coffee while I finish that last
e-mail. But when I walk out of those doors, I travel.
Whether I am hiking up mountains with friends for a few weeks, with my family for a summer vacation, or exploring cities across the USA with my girlfriend, I travel.
Sometimes, I travel to see different things. I always travel to taste new foods, and sometimes I travel to do things. But the main reason I travel, is to learn.
For me, traveling is not only about experiencing different cultures, it is about experiencing one’s self in an entirely new context. In a new world, surrounded by unfamiliar people and customs, I always discover strengths and weaknesses I never knew I had.
